Karadzic refuses to plea

A 'not guilty' plea has been entered on behalf of Bosnian Serb wartime leader Radovan Karadzic.

The UN tribunal at The Hague was obliged to take that step after Karadzic refused to plea to the charges of genocide against him.

The charges relate to war crimes and crimes against humanity in the 1992-95 Bosnian war.
