Five railway workers were among the dead in the Bologna crash

Train services across Italy are at a standstill as striking railway workers demand safety improvements.
The protest follows a crash between two trains near Bologna 10 days ago, which left 17 people dead - including five rail workers.
The Italian authorities say only essential services will run during the 24-hour stoppage, which started on Sunday night.
The cause of the accident on 7 January has not yet been identified.
A regional express train collided head-on with a freight train, derailing its engine as the goods train ploughed into passenger carriages.
