The Serbian parliament is meeting in Belgrade today appx 0900B to discuss a number of emergency decrees introduced during the conflict with NATO.

Deputies are due to vote for them to be enshrined into law.

But the opposition argues that the decrees -- which include severe curbs on individual and media freedom -- should be lifted.

Particular importance is being placed on special provisions for raising war taxes and other financial measures.

The BBC Belgrade correspondent says the parliament meeting is proving another focus for anti-government protests, with a number of opposition parties threatening to boycott the session.
