Sheds would be replaced with a care home for the elderly

A residential home for elderly people in Jersey could be built on an existing farm if plans are approved.
An application has been received for a care home on La Preference Farm in St Martin.
If the planning authorities agree, commercial sheds could be knocked down to make way for a care home with 41 en suite rooms.
The two-storey building will be set on 3,000 square metres of land.
The plans include a lounge and dining room, a shop or salon and laundry, and a car park for 30 cars.
The applicant, La Preference Holding Limited, said there was a need for the care home because of the pressure Jersey's ageing population is putting on public health services.
