Revived island dairy thrives
Alderney dairy
The dairy was re-established in Alderney in 2002
Alderney's dairy is thriving after it was re-established three years ago.

The farm was revived in 2000 after the death of farmer Jon le Cocq caused it to fold.

Mike Cox and his family have gradually rebuilt the operation, and now manufacture a range of produce on site, including ice cream and yoghurts.

A limited amount of stock is also exported to Guernsey, where demand is gradually on the increase.

Mr Cox said the operation had come a long way since the early days of production.

"When we first came here there wasn't anything," he said.

"The first thing was to build some decent milking facilities."
