Cash threat to air show
Red Arrows
Red Arrows: Finale of the show
Jersey's Battle of Britain air show may not go ahead next year, unless more sponsors can be found.

Display organiser Mike Higgins paid tribute to airport staff for making sure the event on Thursday was a success.

But he said unless more funds came forward, next year's display could be in doubt.

He explained it cost more than £130,000 to put on the display every year.

He said: "If we do not have the money then we cannot put the display on.

"We spend about half the money in the island on hotel accommodation, food, transport and so on.

"The aeroplanes cost about £50,000 and that's to bring them from all over Europe."

The display went ahead this year despite concern that bad weather would affect the show.
