Nigerian writer becomes UN goodwill ambassador
The United Nations Population Fund has appointed the leading Nigerian writer, Chinua Achebe, as a goodwill ambassador to the world.
Mr Achebe, who is currently a professor of literature in the United States, is best known for his novels 'Things Fall Apart' and 'No Longer at Ease'.
He expressed delight at his appointment.
