Army looks to boost black presence
The Army wants more soldiers from black and ethnic communities |
The Army's drive to recruit more soldiers from ethnic minorities has arrived in Wales.
At the moment, Black and Asian communities are under represented in the Armed forces.
The campaign will highlight the Army's new equal opportunities procedures.
Community meetings
The ethnic minority recruitment campaign aims to highlight career opportunities within the Army and also stress that the armed forces are now running a zero tolerance approach to any form of racial abuse.
Meetings will be held with community representative to explore how negative impressions of Army life can be overcome.
A series of measures have recently been introduced to the Army such as access to industrial tribunals, a confidential hotline to report cases of abuse and a commitment to launch immediate investigations into harrassment.
