Work to restore a road in north east Wales - which was virtually destroyed by a landslide - has reached the final stages.
The construction work on the A542, Horseshoe Pass in Llangollen follows its partial collapse after a mudslide in November 2000. It has cost around £750,000 to secure the existing slip face, rebuild the road and to erect a large concrete retaining wall. The collapse of the road followed weeks of torrential rain in the area which flooded out homes and businesses across north Wales.
