A local man in his 20s has been arrested by Gwent Police in relation to an incident in which a stolen lorry crashed into four cars, including a police car, on Friday morning.

The stolen lorry was driven the wrong way around the A465 Rassau roundabout, Tredegar, when it was involved in a collision with a police car and three other vehicles, police said.

A police spokesman said the Mercedes lorry was taken from a business at Cannop in the Forest of Dean near Cinderford, Gloucestershire, early on Friday morning.

It collided with four cars, badly damaging three, including a South Wales Police car, said a police spokesman.

One person in one of the vehicles is believed to have suffered minor injuries and was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny for treatment.
