Politicians on voting problems 'scandal'

The problem of people being unable to vote in some parts of the country due to lengthy queues still waiting when the polls closed has been discussed by politicians.

Labour's Tessa Jowell said she thought it was a "scandal".

Eric Pickles, of the Conservative Party, questioned the role of the Electoral Commission in the affair.

Liberal Democrat representative Simon Hughes told Jeremy Paxman that "it should be possible to vote anywhere in your constituency".
