Brown to al-Qaeda: 'We will defeat you'

Gordon Brown has opened an international summit on the future of Afghanistan, describing the country as vital to global security.

In his opening address to the conference at Lancaster House in London, Mr Brown delivered a warning message to Al Qaeda.
