Local elections will be held in England on 4 June, the same day as voting for the European Parliament election.
A total of 34 local authorities will be holding elections: 27 county councils, two existing unitary councils and five new unitaries.

Cornwall, Shropshire and Wiltshire cover exactly the same areas as the old county councils they replace. Bedfordshire had been divided into two unitary areas: Bedford and Central Bedfordshire.
