In pictures: Princess Margaret's funeral
Princess Margaret's funeral was a low-key, private event inside Windsor Castle with just family and friends present, although a few thousand members of the public paid their respects outside.
The coffin, topped with white lilies, was flanked by two military knights before the service
Royal mourners included Prince Charles, his sons, the Duke of York and Sophie, Countess of Wessex
Flags in Windsor were flown at half mast on the day
Princess Margaret's children, Viscount Linley (centre) and Sarah Chatto, were among the mourners
A crowd of several thousand people gathered outside the castle
The public outside Windsor Castle caught only a glimpse of the Queen Mother
The world's media gathered to record the event
One Windsor shop marked the day with a special display
