Map showing location
One man has been killed and an elderly woman wounded in a shooting at a petrol station in West Yorkshire.

The incident happened at the Chellow Heights Service Station in Bradford.

Police officers discovered the body of an Asian man inside a white Vauxhall Astra at the scene on Haworth road.

They are searching for at least one other vehicle which they believe was involved in the shooting at 1345 BST.

'Two cars shooting'

Workers from a nearby quarry tried to intervene before two cars were seen leaving the scene at high speed.

Chris Day, a press officer for West Yorkshire Metropolitan Ambulance Service told BBC News Online: "Witnesses reported seeing two cars shooting at one another.

The elderly lady may have been on the pavement near the cars... she was hit by flying glass and was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary with cuts.

The man died from gunshot wounds, and he was dead at the scene, " he added.

An area of north-west Bradford has been cordoned off and a police helicopter is involved in the search.

The dead man's identify has not been released.

Forensic experts are at the scene.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw the Vauxhall Astra prior to the incident to contact them.
