Rich countries have made great leaps in the battle against HIV and AIDS, largely through the use of highly expensive drugs.

However, most Africans cannot afford them, even though 80% of HIV-positive people live in sub-Saharan Africa. What can Africa do in the face of this situation? Is there any hope?
