Soccer-mad Kevin Bartz from Merthyr Tydfil, persuaded his then girlfriend Claire Trewartha to marry him at Anfield - the home of Liverpool football club.

Even though he has been besotted with the Reds for years and his home teeming with memorabilia, his new wife says she was still shocked when he proposed on the proviso that Anfield was the venue.

"I knew I would not get him down the aisle any other way," she said.

The families hired a coach for the trip to Liverpool

So, with all other preparations underway, the couple hired a team coach for friends and family - loaded up the red and white bouquets - and headed up north to Merseyside.

Following a short ceremony inside Liverpool FC headquarters, the couple made their way down to the historic ground for the photographs.

"It's been fabulous," Claire said. "I couldn't actually imagine it, especially as it's on a football pitch but I'm glad we have done it this way. It was brilliant.
