The city hopes to secure an Olympic standard pool

Funding of £5m is being proposed by Aberdeen City Council to pay towards a new Olympic standard swimming pool.
The money is from funds raised through the recent sale of ground leases of three industrial estates.
The £23m swimming pool project still hinges on additional funding from the Scottish Executive and other sports agencies.
The council plans to spend a total of £10m in its programme, also including road, park and toilet improvements.
Councillor Neil Fletcher, convener of resources management, has proposed that the additional £10m of capital projects be authorised.
