A fatal accident inquiry is to be held into the death in prison of a mountaineer who tackled some of the hardest climbs in Scotland.
Former soldier Alan Mullin, 34, was found dead in a cell at Porterfield Prison in Inverness in March.
Mr Mullin, from Easter Ross, had been remanded in custody after appearing at Tain Sheriff Court the previous month charged with a breach of the peace.
An inquiry will be held at Inverness Sheriff Court from 3 December.
The inquiry is expected to run until 12 December.
In November 2002, the former soldier with Royal Green Jackets made a winter ascent of Crazy Sorrow, at Lochnagar, which is considered an extreme climb in summer.
