Further talks are due to take place on the future of the Arnish renewable energy yard in the Western Isles.
Last month, operator Camcal - which builds towers for wind farms and wave machines at Arnish - announced it was laying off 50 of its 90 workers.
The firm, which has been struggling with financial difficulties, hopes it could be saved by a company buy-out.
Monday's discussions with an unnamed potential investor are seen as being crucial to its survival.
Camcal chairman James MacCallum said: "We should have a clearer idea over the future of the yard by the middle of the week."
There are fears that the company could be placed into administration if a takeover cannot be agreed.
The yard's sole remaining order is to manufacture 16 wind towers for Dutch firm EWT.
