Families in Scotland are facing the biggest rises in the UK for their grocery shopping, according to new figures.
The Scottish Retail Consortium (SRC) said grocery prices in Scottish shops went up by 1.6% in the year to February.
It is the biggest increase since December 2005.
Researchers examined the prices of 500 of the most commonly-bought items, including butter, bread and milk.
Between January and February this year, the cost of food went up by 0.9% in Scotland compared with 0.4% in the UK as a whole.
The rise was still below the government's official inflation measure, the Consumer Price Index. Its current annual inflation rate is 2.2%
