Mr Raffan was investigated over his parliamentary expenses
|
Former MSP Keith Raffan has had £6,000 deducted from his pension until he can explain irregularities in his expenses.
The Lib Dem quit in January, blaming a long-running back problem. He had submitted a £41,000 mileage claim, which was double that of any other MSP.
Last month, parliament officials decided the 56-year-old should be entitled to access his £15,000 pension.
But after an independent audit they have decided to withhold £6,000 from his one-off £25,000 ill health payment.
Mr Raffan's expenses claim was examined by the Holyrood auditors Deloitte and Touche.
