Glasgow is holding its first River Festival on the Clyde

More than 75,000 visitors are expected to turn up in Glasgow over the next four days for the city's first ever River Festival.
The event is aiming to showcase the ongoing regeneration of the River Clyde and its importance to the economic future and development of the city.
The festival will focus on the area near the Glasgow Science Centre and the Armadillo and ends on Monday.
It opens on Friday with a ceremony on the water on HMS Blyth.
City's lifeblood
People will be able to try their hand at sailing a dinghy along the river and tour the Royal Navy's HMS Inverness among other planned activities.
Festival director Michael Dale told the Herald newspaper: "The River Clyde has contributed an enormous amount to Glasgow's cultural and economic heritage.
