Protestors in Aberdeen have prevented the start of work on the city's new £120m bypass.
Access roads to an estate on the outskirts of the city were blocked and engineers were denied access.
Council officials had been attempting to start exploratory survey work on the Newton Dee estate at Milltimber.
But they were met by about 50 protestors from the Camphill Village Trust, who had blocked the access road with tractors.
Many of those taking part in the demonstration were adults with learning difficulties who are cared for in the tranquil woodland community.
Council officials made no attempt to force the issue and told the protestors that they would seek legal advice and may return with a court order.
