More than two million people a year become carers
Carers Scotland is calling for a more unified approach to carer support across the country.

It is estimated that there are 600,000 people in Scotland who save the state £5bn a year by looking after relatives and friends on an unpaid basis.

However, support provided to help carers in Scotland is patchy.

Many carers suffer stress and depression. Carers Scotland warn they will be unable to cope without a more consistent approach to carer support.
