Music fans will be able to enjoy a massive open-air concert in the centre of Edinburgh while the city hosts this year's MTV Europe awards.
The free gig will take place in Princes Street gardens at the same time as
some of the biggest names in showbiz attend the awards ceremony in Leith.
Live shots from the 10th anniversary ceremony will be beamed onto giant
screens to make sure the concert-goers do not miss any of the action as the
awards are handed out.
It is estimated that the ceremony will be shown in 113 million homes across
Europe.
MTV bosses have also announced that a series of concerts in London,
Birmingham, Manchester and Newcastle will take place in the weeks leading up to the awards ceremony on 6 November.
Details of the acts performing in the Road to Edinburgh and Princes Street
gigs have yet to be announced - but Richard Godfrey, the awards' executive
producer, promised something special.
