BBC Scotland has launched its wide-ranging coverage of the parliamentary and local elections taking place on 1 May.
Throughout the campaign, news bulletins and election specials on television, radio and online are aiming to provide viewers, listeners and users with the information they need.
The theme of BBC Scotland's election coverage is "Your Election" and over the remainder of the campaign the broadcaster will raise the issues that matter to the people of Scotland and scrutinise the policies of the parties vying for their votes.
Coverage is across all outputs including;
- BBC Scotland's News Online providing up-to-date reports on all the breaking political news. It is posting essays and commentary pieces on dominant issues as well as audio and video interviews with senior politicians and political correspondents.
- both radio and TV are bringing live outside broadcasts from marginal and key constituencies, including the leaders' seats. That is being complimented by expert analysis and commentary.
- and detailed scrutiny of all the major issues is coming from Reporting Scotland. Jackie Bird, David Robertson and Sally Magnusson are taking to the road and presenting the programme on eight occasions from around the country. Outside broadcasts include Stirking, Barra, Eyemouth, Plockton, Dumfries, Glasgow, Oban and Dundee.
On election night itself, Kirsty Wark will present a special results programme on BBC One Scotland, with full, uninterrupted coverage of the race to control Holyrood.
Glenn Campbell will head Radio Scotland's election coverage through the night until Good Morning Scotland comes on air to digest the implications of the results.
He and his team will bring regular reports from 18 locations around Scotland, including the eight regional centres.
