In pictures: Mars rovers on display
The US space agency Nasa has unveiled the two unmanned rovers it is sending to Mars this year to scour the planet for evidence of water and life.
The rovers, which run on six wheels, are about the size of a small car
They will be used to travel further across the dusty landscape than any previous craft
With their sophisticated instruments, they will search for evidence of water
The rovers - to be launched on separate rockets in May and June - cost more than $150m each to build
The devices are identical, but will land in different regions of the Red Planet
After a seven-month journey, the rovers will parachute down to the planet's surface
They are due on Mars just days after a British probe, Beagle 2, touches down
