What is it like to be the child of a politician - and how does family life in a political household prepare you for a future in politics?

In Keeping it in the Family, a Sunday Supplement series on The Westminster Hour in December 2003, political writer and commentator Julia Langdon talks to some of the 25 current Members of Parliament who are themselves the children of politicians.

Nicholas Soames' childhood memories include playing with his grandfather Winston Churchill and assorted Commonwealth leaders who would bring him nice presents like model tractors.

Hilary Benn remembers long marches that ended in Trafalgar Square, listening to even longer speeches. Gwyneth Dunwoody 's father Morgan Phillips used to take her to Labour Party conferences from the age of 4 and taught her the art of operating effectively at political meetings.
