Steve Bradshaw at Feltham
Boys Behind Bars
Sunday 11 March 2001
Reporter Steve Bradshaw
Producer Tom Giles
Assistant Producer Tamsen Courtenay

Panorama has filmed exclusively in the notorious Feltham Young Offenders Institution in Middlessex which holds boys as young as fifteen from across the South of England.

They are the kids who burgle our houses, steal our cars, and mug us. Every year we lock up more than any country in Europe. But they are often held in appalling conditions that encourage even more crime.

Steve Bradshaw reports on the conditions that have created a culture of violence and self-harm at the notorious prison for young offenders.

James Helm put your questions to reporter Steve Bradshaw.
