Prime Minister David Cameron has indicated that thousands of employees of multinational companies who come to the UK to work under intra-company transfers will be exempt from the immigration cap.

Appearing on Newsnight, the Immigration Minister Damian Green told Jeremy Paxman that the immigration cap was " just one of the ways we will reduce net immigration to the tens of thousands" and guaranteed that this figure could be achieved by the end of the current Parliament.
