On Breakfast With Frost on Sunday 12th November, the Chancellor, Gordon Brown, talked about the measures introduced in his pre-Budget statement and defended his decision to introduce a Britdisc for British motorists despite protests from Brussels. The Shadow Chancellor, Michael Portillo, was also interviewed on the programme, and said the Conservatives would match the extra spending on pensions and fuel prices. As the voters in America still wait to see who will be their new President, the former US Ambassador to Britain, Raymond Seitz, discussed the latest calls for manual recounts in the Palm Beach county of Florida, and the Hinduja brothers, who are bidding to run the Daily and Sunday Express newspaper group, explained what they would hope to do with the media organisation if their bid is successful.
