Crossing over
It's hard to believe Mae has been recording for more than 10 years now - she's only 25 years old.
During that time she's successfully mastered her craft as a classical musician then broken new ground by 'crossing over' into other musical genres.
Mae has had a string of musicians following her into classical crossover including girl band 'Bond' all of whom are classically trained.
The new album 'Choreography' sees Vanessa Mae team up with the might of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and includes dance inspired tracks by diverse composers including Vangelis.
Worldwide sales of all her albums have now soared past the eight million mark - the latest offering takes its inspiration from dance with hints of tango, bolero and African tribal music.
Mae's success is due to career can be measured by her commitment to her craft - she started playing the violin when she was just five years old, by the time she was ten, she'd made her first appearance as a classical virtuoso.
