Palin's Sahara crossing
Globetrotting Michael Palin has travelled across the Sahara Desert.
He has a wealth of stories to share. And, this morning, he gave us a flavour of them in a special online forum.
This forum has now finished.
To reach the fabled 11th century city of Timbuktu, Palin had to cross crocodile-infested rivers and scale mountain ranges. In our online forum, he describes his hairiest moment - trailing at the back of a Tuareg camel train as it crossed the Sahara. He also reveals that there's only unexplored region he has no desire to enter: outer space.
