The public have been warned about phone scams

A company which sent unsolicited automated calls to phone users in Northern Ireland has been fined £10,000 and barred from operating for a year.
The messages told consumers they had won a prize and should call a premium rate number to claim it.
East Belfast Assembly member Naomi Long said she was contacted by concerned constituents and raised the issue with the phone watchdog, ICSTIS.
She said she hopes the case will help raise public awareness about the issue.
"It is a victory for the consumer because this company has been put out of business, but I think it is also a warning to others who think they can get away with a phone scam like this," she said.
