Police warning over bogus callers
Pensioners are usually the target of bogus caller crime
Police have warned people to look out for bogus callers after an apparent attempt to obtain cash from a pensioner in east Belfast.
The warning was issued on Saturday after a man claiming to work for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive conned his way into the home of a 90-year-old man at Ardcarn Way. The caller asked the man if he kept his cash but the pensioner told him he did not and ordered him out of his flat. It is thought there was another man waiting outside. Police want anyone who may be able to assist them with their enquiries to contact them at Strandtown station in east Belfast.
