Road diversions were put in place after the Whitesands in Dumfries were flooded

Some shops were affected as the flood waters started to rise - a familiar scene to Doonhamers over the years
The Devorgilla bridge in the distance was closed to pedestrians as the flooding spread
The Greensands were also involved as the river waters approached high tide
Car park closures were expected to stay in place for some time before waters subsided
