In Pictures: BP Portrait Award
|
Four artists have been shortlisted for the BP Portrait Award. The Universe by Saul Robertson depicts the artist in his painting garb. The winner will be announced on June 13.
Giulietta Coates by London-based Dean Marsh is an "honest" portrait of the artist's girlfriend. The winner gets £25,000 plus a £4,000 commission.
Monkey Painting by Irish painter Conor Walton is the artist's modern reworking of the 17th Century ape painting genre.
Gregory Cumins' entry is a portrait of Richard Deacon, who taught the artist sculpture at Paris's École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts.
