Ewan McGregor was in London's Leicester Square on Sunday for the UK premiere of his science-fiction thriller The Island.

Also at the event was his co-star Scarlett Johansson. The actress is in London shooting a film with Woody Allen.

Actor Sean Bean plays a villainous role in Michael Bay's futuristic tale of human cloning.

Gladiator star Djimon Hounsou was also at the event to walk down the atypical blue carpet.

White was the order of the day for many guests, including former Eurovision hopeful Javine.

But one-time Hearsay member Myleene Klass chose a blue dress for her night at the pictures.

Retired heavyweight boxer Lennox Lewis represented the world of sport at the film's British premiere...

...while Mayor of London Ken Livingstone was on hand to offer a politician's perspective.

It was all smiles from McGregor and Johansson as they faced the press. The Island opens in the UK on Friday.
