The Sage is the latest in a series of developments that have transformed the Gateshead and Newcastle quaysides.

A 100-metre long ribbon of coloured glass designed by Kate Maestri forms a walkway through The Sage.

There are two performances spaces, one with seating for about 1,700 people and one for up to 400 seats.

The Sage is the new home of the Northern Sinfonia. It is expected to host more than 400 performances each year, featuring music of all kinds.
