The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre is in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire, where he lived for many years.

The museum features a recreation of the "writing hut" he built in his garden where he created much of his work.

The original hut, which stands a few hundred yards from the museum, is considered too fragile for visitors.

Among the papers on display are notes in which Dahl developed the vocabulary of his Big Friendly Giant character.

Although he wanted his papers kept in the UK, Dahl may have been surprised to learn they had stayed in Great Missenden.
