Fairytale home through the years

Victorian mansion Saltwell Towers, on Tyneside, is transformed to its former glory as work continues on the grounds.

The mansion was built for stained-glass manufacturer William Wailes in 1862.

Saltwell Lake lies in the heart of the grounds.

Known as the People's Park, the grounds were a haven for Tyneside people.
