In Pictures: The Donkey MOT
1 of 5
Before they can go to work on the beach at Skegness, donkeys must pass their equivalent of the MOT - including health checks by a vet.
2 of 5
All beach donkeys are branded on their hooves so people can make complaints if necessary.
3 of 5
Microchips must be inserted under the donkeys' skin, or licences will not be issued.
4 of 5
A final check to ensure the animal has no sores, especially in the area where the saddle is placed.
5 of 5
