In pictures: Rolf Harris' 'Draw In'

Hundreds of people arrived in Trafalgar Square to watch and take part in Rolf Harris's challenge to recreate Constable's The Hay Wain.

Rolf Harris painted one of the panels himself...

...and made sure the scores of celebrities and amateur artists pulled their weight too

BBC children's television presenter Fearne Cotton was one of many celebrities to take part.

Actor John Bardon - aka EastEnders' Jim Branning - also put his thinking cap on to produce his masterpiece.

Each artist contributed one canvas towards the 144 needed for the painting.

Artist and model for the Trafalgar Square plinth, Alison Lapper, made her contribution.

Former Goodie Bill Odie also got stuck in with the brush.

Jane Seymour and Anneka Rice gave the challenge their best shot...

...and were understandably pleased with the result

Assembling the final painting was a mammoth task.

And the end result was a copy of Constable's masterpiece - the size of a double-decker bus.
