English Heritage has approved a multi-million pound refurbishment of Brighton's West Pier to restore it to its former glory.

The pier is closed after suffering severe damage.

It suffered two fires, after part of it collapsed into the sea.

The fire damage put possible restoration work at risk.

They left just the blackened skeleton of the main structure.

English Heritage agrees the famous pier should be renovated.

The Heritage Lottery Fund will discuss funding for the project in January.
