In pictures: A look around Soho

Soho, which is in the heart of London's West End, is renowned for its sex shops and nightlife.

But tucked away is St Anne's Gardens which residents campaigned to be returned to the public.

Around it is a fence made from 16 oak tusks supporting a 45-metre steel mesh that by day appears to be a security fence.

But by night Wardour Street is illuminated by its white light...

...and its green light...

..and other colours in-between.

The gardens were originally part of St Anne's churchyard and contain 60,000 bodies, including the essayist William Hazlet.

A memorial to the Soho nail bomb victims was unveiled in the gardens, which are near the Admiral Duncan pub.

The next stage of the project will involve more landscaping and seating, once plans have gone to public consultation.
