Australian rockers AC/DC were also on the bill - as were Justin Timberlake, Rush, The Guess Who and The Flaming Lips.

Some fans turned up with the Stones' lips logo painted on their faces.

Portaloos were lined up at the venue - a former military airbase - before the concert took place.

Some fans waited outside the venue overnight, while others drove more than 600 miles.
