Cameroon's international footballer Marc Vivien Foe was buried with full national honours in the capital Yaounde.

Thousands came to paid last respect to Foe, who collapsed and died during a match in France on 26 June.

Cameroon's Government and foreign dignitaries attended a church service in the Notre Dame des Victoires cathedral.

World football's top officials also flew to Yaounde to give their last tributes to the famous international player.

Before Foe was buried, he was knighted as a Commander of the Order of National Valour.

The 28-year-old midfielder was laid to rest in a sports complex he was constructing.

On Sunday, thousands crammed the Amadou Ahidjo stadium, home to the Indomitable Lions, in tribute to the fallen star.
