As well as blowing horns and waving Vieques and Puerto Rican flags, they shouted "Navy, get out" and stole military vehicles

Vehicles were flipped over and their windows and lights smashed with sledgehammers - a Humvee was set alight

Ignoring the midnight deadline, some protesters had entered the bombing range from the sea earlier in the evening
