This was the Queen's 51st Trooping the Colour as monarch - it was cancelled in 1955 because of a national strike

The Queen was joined by Prince Philip, also Colonel of the Grenadier Guards - he sat rather than rode for the first time

The Princess Royal rode on horseback as Colonel of the Blues and Royals, of the Household Cavalry

Princes William and Harry waved to the crowds lining the Mall for the occasion

The flypast formation included Tornado and Jaguar fighter jets, a VC-10 and a C-17 Globemaster
